Ministry Projects
Our ministry mainly serves the villages of Panibaj, Chuchuca, and Chuiquel. We have many projects, but they all serve our vision of revealing God's love by meeting basic needs.
HOUSING
We work together with families in need to help them build new homes. The families invest their time, labor, and a very small portion of the cost to help give them ownership and pride in their home. A home with solid walls and concrete floors drastically reduces sickness and disease and has also been shown to improve mental health.
NUTRITIONAL ASSISTANCE
The consequences of poor and inadequate nutrition leaves children vulnerable to diseases and illness, and can stunt growth and development. We currently have feeding programs in 3 villages (with a 4th coming soon God willing!) and we often deliver food baskets to families in our communities with specific needs.
CAROL PROJECT
The Carol Project are our women's programs, named after Carol Jo Newburn, a beloved and faithful woman of God, support the women in the villages we serve. Programs include a weekly fellowship and Bible study, nutrition, parenting and cooking workshops as well as skills training which provide opportunities for women to help support their families. The TISOJ sewing program provides women with the materials and training to learn a valuable skill that can help them provide resources to help support their families.
DISCIPLESHIP
Our most important mission at Least of These Guatemala is to help make followers and disciples of Jesus Christ! We offer weekly Bible Studies to the women and children in the villages we serve to help deepen their faith and walk with our Lord. We are also starting a Men's Bible study/fellowship group in the summer of 2025 for the fathers of children in our sponsorship program!
MEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION CLINICS
Access to medical care in the villages is extremely difficult. Many people go untreated for simple ailments and suffer because of the financial and geographical barriers. We currently are offering one medical clinic per year in each of our three villages, but would love to partner with churches and doctors/nurses to improve and grow this area of the ministry.

SEEDS PROGRAM
Only about 12% of Guatemalan children finish secondary school, and only 36% finish elementary. This is largely due to family pressure on the children to drop out and start working as soon as possible to help provide income. Our Seeds program offers opportunities for kids that wish to continue their education. Least of These Guatemala helps the family cover expenses and offers both the means and supplies to those young adults that choose to pursue higher education. Part of this program is also the opportunity for girls to join the Carol Project and learn a vocation and valuable life skills.

In Guatemala there is a common saying, "Estoy aqui para servirle" (I am here to serve you!) Least of These Guatemala exists to share God's love and serve the people of Guatemala. That being said, we are always open and looking for other opportunities to do just that! While we have our core programs, we never hesitate to be involved with other opportunities that may present themselves. Other projects we are involved in are general construction (building churches, bathroom facilities, etc.); water barrel collection systems for clean water; vacation Bible school for children, Christmas outreach, Children's Day outreach, and so much more!
